ISU School of Education Hosts the International Summer School

How can narratives serve as tools for research in education? This question shaped five days (June 22–26) at Ilia State University, which recently hosted the international summer school “Narratives as Research and Communication Tools,” organized with support of the French-Georgian University and in collaboration with the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM), France.

Over five days, over 20 participants – MA and PhD students, early-career researchers, and academics from Georgia, France, Ireland, and Kyrgyzstan –  worked in teams to produce collective narratives on academic spaces in Georgia. They visited three universities, engaged in collaborative writing, held interdisciplinary discussions, and critically engaged with AI-assisted translation and writing.

The summer school concluded with presentations of these collective narratives and with a soft launch of a shared narrative repository, creating a foundation for future research collaboration and joint publications.

Thank you to all participants, speakers, and colleagues for a stimulating exchange of ideas. Special thanks to the French-Georgian University for making this collaboration possible, and to our partners at CNAM for their contribution to the programme.
