On April 19, Ilia State University hosted a support action of Free Donorship: Give Blood – Save a Life. During the action students and professors donated blood for free.
 
The goal of the project is to foster free donorship, inform the society on existing practices and increase number of donors by attracting the volunteers.

For the action the Blood Bank of the O. Gudushauri Medical Center provided a mobile team, which organized free blood drive at the Ilia State University. During the session the Center also conducted registration of volunteer donors who will be included in the donor database. Action was organized by the Students’ Self-Government of the Ilia State University and carried out in cooperation with the NGO “Donors’ Club”. Support for the meeting was provided by the Global Fund, American International Healthcare Alliance (AIHA) and T&K Restaurants-McDonalds.
