On June 5, Ilia State University launched a summer school of Information Management. School is part of the Tempus project “New Masters Program in Library and Information Sciences” (45021-TEMPUS-2008-UK-JPCR) and sets the goal to develop information sciences in Georgia, Armenia and Uzbekistan. Participants of the school come from different universities, libraries and research centers of the three countries. Summer school is attended by a winder audience including the participants of the Tempus project and representatives of partner institutions of the Ilia State University such as the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, National Centre of Manuscripts and Institute of Innovation Systems.
The Summer School of Information Management will continue till July 15. Intensive courses are guided by experts and professors from the Universities of Barcelona, Parma and Thames Valley, as well as Rezekna Higher Education Institution.
The key subjects of the summer school are:
- Establishment of electronic libraries and their application;
- Combination of library science, archives and basics of technology;
- Marketing of library and information services.
