May 19 – Ilia State University hosted an annual student conference organized by the College of Sports.

Students presented their works on scientific and practical issues of sports specialization. A Panel composed of professors awarded conference winners with certificates. Awards were distributed in the following way: 1st place – fourth year student Giorgi Geldiashvili (“Comparative Analysis – Characteristics of General Physical Preparedness: Examples of Wrestling and Other Martial Arts”, supervisor: David Kvinikadze); 2nd place – third year student Rostom Khozrevanidze (“Historical Tour in Old Tbilisi”, supervisor: Lali Mikeladze) and the 3rd place – third year students Natia Iashvili and George Makarashvili (“Is there Another Georgia?”, supervisor: Lali Mikeladze).

The goal of the conference was to create appropriate conditions for sports science, to realize scientific research-based study principles in academic programs and to promote scientific research with participation of students and professors.
