
On March 30, “Olympics” Sports Centre hosted the second round match of qualifying tournament of European Championship among Greek National team and Georgian Water-Polo team included eight members of ISU Water-Polo Club “Ligamus”.
Greek team is a favorite of the group, 4th place holder at Athens Olympic Games and Bronze prize-winner at World Championship. In spite of the rival’s advantage, the hosts steadfastly resisted them.
The first period ended 3:3. In the second period, Greek team coached by two-time World Champion Serbian Andris Dragan finally gained a victory – 11:8. Despite the loss, Georgian team has not lost a chance to go through play-off because of beat British team in the first round- 9:3. On July 2, our team will play in Manchester and in case of losing five points; it must be possible to go though the next stage.
