For the period of three days, the Sports complex “Olympic” hosted an open championship with more than 100 sportsmen from Georgia and Azerbaijan taking part in the event.

Giorgi Bukhrikidze, student from the Faculty of Business and Law, won three medals. He was the best among 40 sportsmen who finished first in the 50-meter category. It took him 24,92 seconds to cover the distance and win the gold medal. He received his second gold medal for the 100-meter free style swimming, where he defeated 27 sportsmen. Giorgi competed at the same distance in the butterfly category too, but failed to beat his major competitor Otar Khatiashvili, who outperformed him by only 0.59 seconds. Giorgi Bukhrikidze finished the second.
 
Another student from the Ilia State University, Giorgi Kekelia, contributed two medals to the collection. He won the silver for 50-meter distance and the bronze for breaststroke.
