On June 15, Ilia State University hosted award ceremony of the winners of the “Business Case Competition.”

In May and June 2010 Ilia State University students participated in the project “Business Case Competition.” The project was initiated and organized by the Students’ Self-Government and the Future Economists’ Club (FESC) (Faculty of Business and Law). From twenty-eight teams of undergraduate and graduate students only three made it to the final session.

Team of graduate students called “Horizon” showed the best results and it was awarded a transferable cup, special diplomas, books and other presents. Supporters of the competition, companies “Wissol” and “Georgian Water and Power” also distributed prizes to the finalists. Namely, “GWP” handed over DVD Players to all members of the team “Business Circles” (third place) and “Wissol” gave special diplomas, membership tickets of the Italian football fan-club and t-shirts to the team “Creative Group” (second place). Finalists received presents from other partner companies too. Among them from VTB Bank, GD Alco, New Economic School “Georgia”, Students Movement, “Davitiani” etc.

The project “Business Case Competition” is an intellectual game, which sets the goal to support the students in development of professional skills and critical thinking. It will aid the participants to implement European style of business cases in Georgia and take results-oriented decisions. Starting from the new academic year “Business Case Competition” will involve all universities across Tbilisi.
