On May 22 Ilia State University hosted a presentation of the Autism Center.

The Center was established at Ilia State University by the “Georgian Association for Autism”. Its goal is to ensure psycho-social rehabilitation of 3-6 year old children with autistic disorder through the use of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) methodology and intensive psychological trainings.

Number of autistic children significantly increases in the world and there is a lack of skilled specialists almost everywhere. So the mission of the Autism Center at Ilia State University is to establish a resource center which will provide support to the children with the autism spectrum disorder.

The Autism Center will be a practical base for the students of Psychology, where they will get to know the ABA method – a method widely applied in the leading clinics around the world and soon to be implemented in Georgia.
